On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, Nabil Group of Industries has launched a food assistance program, distributing food aid to 50,000 underprivileged and needy individuals. Along with this, a sales initiative for Nabil Group products at reduced prices throughout the month of Ramadan has also been inaugurated.
On Saturday (March 1), the program was launched at the Nabil Group’s R&D Center in Bamnashikhar Khorkhori, on the outskirts of Rajshahi city, by Nabil Group Chairman Alhaj Md. Jahangir Boks Mondol and Managing Director Aminul Islam.
In a press release signed by Nabil Group’s Public Relations Officer Md. Badaruddin, it was mentioned that Managing Director Aminul Islam stated, “Ramadan is the most important month for Muslims. This month provides a special opportunity for spiritual growth and self-purification. However, some people use this month as an opportunity to make excessive profits. Nabil Group always conducts business for the welfare of the country and its people. Therefore, in the holy month of Ramadan, we have taken the initiative to stand by the poor and needy. As part of this initiative, we are providing food assistance to at least 50,000 families."
He further explained, “The common business tactic is to exploit the demand during Ramadan to increase profits. In contrast, we have taken a stand against this unethical approach and have started selling products with additional discounts, even beyond our pre-determined profit margin. As a result, it has brought relief to the poor, underprivileged, and lower-middle-income groups. Nabil Group is proud to be there for the people of the country, and we always aim to be dedicated to the welfare of the nation and its people."
Nabil Group Chairman Alhaj Md. Jahangir Boks Mondol said, “During the holy month of Ramadan, the daily expenses of every family, rich or poor, increase. With this in mind, Nabil Group has taken the initiative to stand by the poor and needy. Additionally, by selling products at reduced prices, we have provided an opportunity for lower and middle-income families to purchase goods at lower costs."
It is worth mentioning that Nabil Group of Industries has played a significant role in the supply and processing of food and agricultural products in Bangladesh for over a decade. As one of the country’s largest business groups, it is a major importer of products like wheat, lentils, peas, and soybean. Last year, Nabil Group ranked fourth in food product imports in Bangladesh.
