In observance of the holy month of Ramadan, Nabil Group of Industries, a leading consumer goods supplier in the country, has launched a food assistance program, distributing aid to 50,000 poor and underprivileged people. Along with this, a sales initiative for Nabil Group’s products at reduced prices throughout Ramadan has also been inaugurated.

On Saturday (March 1), the program was launched at the Nabil Group’s R&D Center in Bamnashikhar Khorkhori, on the outskirts of Rajshahi city, by Nabil Group Chairman Mr. Md. Jahangir Boks Mondol and Managing Director, Agricultural Expert Aminul Islam.

In the event, Managing Director Aminul Islam Swapan stated, “Ramadan is the most important month for Muslims. This month provides an opportunity for self-purification and spiritual growth. However, some take advantage of this month to make excessive profits. Nabil Group always conducts business for the welfare of the country and its people. Therefore, in this holy month of Ramadan, we have decided to stand by the poor and underprivileged. As part of this initiative, we will be providing food assistance to at least 50,000 families throughout Ramadan."

He further explained, “The common business tactic is to use market demand during Ramadan as a weapon to increase profits. In contrast, we have started selling products at discounted prices even from the pre-determined profit margin. As a result, it has brought relief not only to the poor and underprivileged but also to the lower and middle-income groups. Nabil Group is proud to be there for the people of the country, and we aim to remain committed to the welfare of our nation and people."

Nabil Group Chairman Mr. Md. Jahangir Boks Mondol also mentioned, “During the holy month of Ramadan, the daily expenses of every family, whether rich or poor, increase. With this in mind, Nabil Group has taken the initiative to stand by the poor and underprivileged. Additionally, by selling products at reduced prices, we have provided an opportunity for lower and middle-income groups to purchase goods at lower costs."

For more than a decade, Nabil Group of Industries has played a key role in the supply and processing of food and agricultural products in Bangladesh. This major business group is one of the largest importers of products such as wheat, lentils, peas, and soybean. Last year, Nabil Group ranked fourth in food product imports in the country.
