Nabil Group of Industries has been playing a significant role in the supply and processing of food and agricultural products in Bangladesh for over a decade. The group is one of the largest importers of several essential products, including wheat, lentils, peas, and soybean meal.
In the first eight months of this year, Nabil Group accounted for 24.47% of the total wheat imports, 49.35% of lentil imports, and 56.83% of pea imports into the country, making it one of the largest importers in the food market of Bangladesh.
On Saturday, December 7, 2024, during the Partners Meet 2024 held at Nabil Industrial Park in Poba, Rajshahi, Md. Aminul Islam, Managing Director and CEO of Nabil Group of Industries, shared these insights with the attendees.
The event was attended by senior officials from the administration and banking sectors, journalists, professionals, and other distinguished guests.
Md. Aminul Islam mentioned that Nabil Group is uncompromising when it comes to ethics and product quality. In addition to importing goods, the group is playing a crucial role in the market by producing several consumer goods. Specifically, Nabil Group has become one of the leading rice producers in the country. Currently, Nabil Group is the second-largest rice producer in Bangladesh, with a daily production capacity of 1,364 tons.
He also highlighted that Nabil Group is continuously establishing new industries to promote agricultural development, industrialization, and job creation. The group has 20 subsidiaries working in the food business, agri-business, trading sector, and service sector, employing nearly 15,000 people. Through these operations, Nabil Group directly supports the livelihoods of around 100,000 individuals across various regions, including Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, and Naogaon.
In the most recent fiscal year (2023-24), Nabil Group’s total value of imported goods amounted to $121 million. Md. Aminul Islam stated that the group has now become a member of the billion-dollar club.
The event saw the participation of over a thousand partners and dealers as invited guests, along with officials and employees from various levels of the company.
