In the fiscal year 2023-24, the total value of Nabil Group’s imported goods amounted to $121 million. The group is now a member of the billion-dollar or hundred-million-dollar club. However, media coverage of the company’s bank loans in the past two years has tarnished its reputation. The company has the capacity to pay off all its bank loans within six months, should it choose to do so.”

He made these remarks on Saturday, during the Partners Meet 2024 held at Nabil Industrial Park in Barogachhi, Poba, Rajshahi.

Md. Aminul Islam further explained that Nabil Group has become one of the largest importers of several essential products, including wheat, lentils, peas, and soybean meal, contributing significantly to Bangladesh’s food and agricultural supply chain over the past decade. In the first eight months of this year, Nabil Group was responsible for 24.47% of the country’s total wheat imports, 49.35% of lentil imports, and 56.83% of pea imports.

He added that Nabil Group plays an essential role in the market not only by importing products but also by producing certain consumer goods. Specifically, the group has become one of the leading rice producers in Bangladesh. Nabil Group is currently the second-largest rice producer in the country, with a daily production capacity of 1,364 tons.

In his speech, Aminul Islam also mentioned that Nabil Group is constantly expanding its industrial ventures to foster agricultural growth, industrialization, and job creation. The group has 20 companies operating in the food business, agri-business, trading, and service sectors, providing employment to nearly 15,000 people. Through these operations, Nabil Group directly supports the livelihoods of almost 100,000 individuals across various regions of Bangladesh, including Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, and Naogaon.

The event was attended by senior officials from the administration and banking sectors, professionals, and other distinguished individuals. Additionally, over a thousand partners and dealers from different parts of the country were present as invited guests.
