Nabil Group, one of the leading suppliers of lentils, rice, and soybeans in the domestic market, imported goods worth $1.21 billion in the fiscal year 2023-24. With this milestone, the group has officially become a prominent member of the billion-dollar club, as announced by its Managing Director and CEO, Agronomist Md. Aminul Islam.
This information was shared during the Partners Meet event held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Nabil Industrial Park in Paba, Rajshahi. The event was attended by senior administrative officials, media representatives, senior banking officials, and professionals from various sectors.
According to the MD and CEO of Nabil Group, the company has been playing a pivotal role in food and agricultural product supply and processing for over a decade. It is the largest importer of several key commodities, including wheat, lentils, peas, and soybeans. In the first eight months of this year, Nabil Group accounted for 24.47% of the country’s total wheat imports, 49.35% of lentil imports, and 56.83% of pea imports.
At the event, Agronomist Md. Aminul Islam further stated that Nabil Group, known for its unwavering commitment to ethics and quality, not only imports products but also plays a crucial role in the market by producing certain consumer goods. Particularly in rice production, the group has established itself as one of the top companies in the country. Nabil Group is currently the second-largest rice producer, with a daily production capacity of 1,364 tons.
To promote agricultural industrialization and create employment opportunities, Nabil Group is continuously establishing new industrial facilities. Working across the food business, agribusiness, trading, and service sectors, the group has created jobs for approximately 15,000 people through its 20 subsidiaries.
Through these initiatives, Nabil Group directly supports the livelihoods of nearly 100,000 people across Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Naogaon, and other regions.
