Nabil Group’s Significant Contribution to Bangladesh’s Food and Agriculture Sector

For over a decade, Nabil Group of Industries has played a vital role in the supply and processing of food and agricultural products in Bangladesh. The group is the largest importer of wheat, lentils, yellow peas, and soybean meal. In the first eight months of this year, Nabil Group accounted for 24.47% of the country’s total wheat imports, 49.35% of lentil imports, and 56.83% of yellow pea imports, solidifying its position as a major importer in the country’s consumer goods market.

On Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Partners’ Meet 2024, held at Nabil Industrial Park in Paba, Rajshahi, these figures were shared by Agriculturist Md. Aminul Islam, the Managing Director and CEO of Nabil Group of Industries. The event was attended by high-ranking government officials, senior banking officials, journalists, and professionals from various fields.

During the event, Md. Aminul Islam emphasized that Nabil Group is unwavering in its commitment to ethics and quality. In addition to imports, the group plays a significant role in the market through the production of consumer goods. Notably, it has become one of the leading rice producers in the country. Currently, Nabil Group is the second-largest rice producer, with a daily production capacity of 1,364 tons.

The CEO highlighted the group’s continuous efforts to expand the agricultural industry, foster industrialization, and create employment opportunities. With its operations in food business, agribusiness, trading, and service sectors, Nabil Group has established 20 companies, providing employment to approximately 15,000 individuals. The group indirectly supports the livelihoods of nearly 100,000 people across the country, including areas like Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, and Naogaon.

The event saw the participation of over 1,000 partners and dealers from different regions of the country, along with officers and employees from various levels of the organization.
