The group is the largest importer of several products, including wheat, lentils, peas, and soybean meal. In the first eight months of the current year, Nabil Group was responsible for 24.47% of the country’s total wheat imports, 49.35% of lentil imports, and 56.83% of pea imports, establishing it as one of the largest importers in Bangladesh’s consumer goods market.

These details were shared by Md. Aminul Islam, Managing Director and CEO of Nabil Group, at the Partners Meet 2024 event held on December 7 at Nabil Industrial Park in Poba, Rajshahi. Senior officials from the administration, banking sector, journalists, and various professionals were present at the event.

In his speech, Md. Aminul Islam emphasized that Nabil Group is uncompromising on ethics and quality standards. In addition to importing products, the group plays a significant role in the market by producing consumer goods, particularly rice. Nabil Group has become one of the leading rice producers in Bangladesh and is currently the second-largest rice producer in the country, with a daily production capacity of 1,364 tons.

To further promote the agricultural industry, industrialization, and job creation, Nabil Group continuously establishes new industrial ventures. The group operates in the food business, agri-business, trading, and service sectors with 20 companies, providing employment to nearly 15,000 people. Through its operations in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Naogaon, and other areas, Nabil Group directly supports the livelihoods of around 100,000 individuals.

In the fiscal year 2023-24, the total value of the imported goods by Nabil Group was $121 million, making the group a member of the billion-dollar or hundred-million-dollar club, as noted by Md. Aminul Islam.

The event saw the participation of over a thousand invited partners and dealers from across the country, along with various officials and employees of the company.
