With the support of Nabil Group of Industries, the Center for Zakat Management (CZM) organized the second phase of fund distribution under the “Jibika Paba Project” in Paba Upazila, Rajshahi, aiming at poverty alleviation and human development.
The event was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2025, where Tk 4,685,000 in zakat funds were distributed among 411 underprivileged families.
The program was presided over by Mr. Jahan Bokhs Mondol, Chairman of Nabil Group of Industries. Agriculturist Md. Aminul Islam, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Group of Industries, attended as the chief guest.
Abdul Wadud, Program Manager of the Jibika Paba Project, delivered the welcome speech. During the event, several women beneficiaries shared their experiences and success stories, describing how the project helped them become self-reliant and fulfill their families’ dreams.
Enamul Haque, Assistant General Manager of CZM, and Colonel (Retd.) Md. Zakaria Hossain, Head of Corporate Affairs, presented the overall activities of the project. They mentioned that since 2008, CZM has reached approximately 1.7 million people with services in education, health, and livelihood development.
According to the report presented at the event, the CZM project provides food, medicine, blankets, educational support, housing and emergency assistance, health camps, free medicine, maternal care, and eye treatment. It also distributes sanitary latrines and installs tube wells. The project promotes multiple income sources through livestock rearing, agriculture, small businesses, fish farming, and poultry farming.
In addition, the project offers interest-free loans, regular skill development training, and rehabilitation for beggars, helping them regain financial independence.
In his address, the chief guest Agriculturist Md. Aminul Islam expressed deep satisfaction after hearing the success stories of the beneficiaries. He stated his intention to continue working with CZM to utilize zakat funds more effectively for public welfare. He said,
“I feel that if we had started this work earlier, our area would have developed much more by now. We have already contributed Tk 37 million from our side. Today, 411 families are part of this initiative, and we plan to expand it to 10,000 families gradually. Nabil Group’s support will continue, Insha’Allah.”
In his closing remarks, Chairman Jahan Bokhs Mondol said,
“The CZM Jibika Project is not just providing financial assistance—it is restoring confidence and giving people hope for a new life. The light that has been kindled in Paba will one day spread across the whole country.”
