With the support of Nabil Group of Industries, the second phase of fund distribution for the “Jibika Paba Project” implemented by the Center for Zakat Management (CZM) was held in Paba Upazila, Rajshahi. The project aims to alleviate poverty and promote human development. At the event, held on Saturday at 11 AM, a total of 4.685 million taka in zakat funds was distributed among 411 underprivileged families.

The event was presided over by Jahan Bokhs Mondol, Chairman of Nabil Group of Industries. The Chief Guest was Agriculturist Md. Aminul Islam, Managing Director and CEO of Nabil Group of Industries.

The welcome speech was delivered by Abdul Wadud, Program Manager of the Jibika Paba Project. During the event, several female project members shared their personal experiences and success stories, describing how the Jibika Project helped them become self-reliant and fulfill their family dreams.

Enamul Haque, Assistant General Manager of CZM, and Colonel (Retd.) Md. Zakaria Hossain, Head of Corporate Affairs, presented an overview of the project’s activities. They mentioned that since 2008, CZM has reached nearly 1.7 million people with services in education, healthcare, and livelihood development.

According to the report presented at the event, the project provides food, medicine, blankets, and educational assistance, along with house construction and emergency services. It also organizes health camps, free medical and maternal care, and eye treatment. Moreover, sanitary latrines and tube wells are being installed. The project promotes multiple sources of income through livestock rearing, agriculture, small businesses, fish farming, and poultry. It also works to eliminate begging, provide interest-free loans, and arrange regular skill development training.

Hearing the success stories of the beneficiaries, Agriculturist Md. Aminul Islam expressed deep satisfaction and shared his hope to continue utilizing his zakat contributions more effectively for public welfare in collaboration with CZM. He said, “I feel that if we had started this initiative earlier, our region would have been much more developed by now. So far, we have contributed 37 million taka, and today 411 families are receiving support. Gradually, we plan to expand this to 10,000 families, and Nabil Group’s cooperation will continue.”

In his closing remarks, Chairman Jahan Bokhs Mondol said, “The CZM Jibika Project is not just providing financial assistance; it is restoring confidence among people and inspiring new dreams for a better life. The light that has been kindled in Paba will one day spread throughout the country.”

At the end of the event, checks from the zakat fund were handed over to 14 team leaders representing the beneficiary groups.
