Star News has officially begun broadcasting as the country’s tenth news-based television channel. The formal inauguration was announced today, Tuesday, at 7:00 PM through a cake-cutting ceremony held at the Nabil Group of Industries (NGI) building located in the Tejgaon Industrial Area.
The channel has entered full-scale broadcasting with the objective of setting a new standard in television journalism by delivering objective, accurate, and timely news.
Present at the event were Md. Jahan Box Mondal, Chairman of Nabil Group; Israt Jahan, Vice Chairman; Md. Aminul Islam, Managing Director; and the Managing Director’s mother. Distinguished guests also included Hossain Khaled, Chairman of City Bank; Mohammad Ali, Managing Director of Pubali Bank; Omar Faruk Khan, Managing Director of Islami Bank; and Kamal Uddin Jasim, Deputy Managing Director.
At the event, Mokhchhedul Kamal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Star News, stated that the channel is equipped with a state-of-the-art “Full Studio Automation” system developed by Aveco, one of the world’s leading broadcast technology companies. Through this technology, Star News has become the first news organization in Bangladesh and Asia to operate entirely under a full automation system.
He explained that the full station automation system integrates every stage of news production—including news gathering, verification, editing, and broadcasting—into a fully automated process. As a result, Star News will be able to deliver news more quickly, accurately, and objectively.
The role of Head of News is being carried out by senior journalist Waliur Rahman Miraj. He expressed confidence that through the combination of modern thinking, technology-driven broadcasting systems, and audience-centric content, Star News will soon establish a strong position in the country’s media landscape.
He further stated that by practicing truthful and responsible journalism, Star News will gain viewers’ trust and establish itself as a reliable news outlet working in favor of democracy, transparency, and the public interest.
Relevant officials have noted that the highest level of modern technology has been ensured in Star News’ broadcasting operations. With cutting-edge studios, digital news production systems, advanced graphics, and enhanced visual presentation, special emphasis has been placed on delivering engaging and information-rich news to viewers. Additionally, an effective framework for rapid news collection, verification, and broadcasting has been developed through innovative newsroom management.
Alongside regular news bulletins, the news-based television channel will feature analytical programs on contemporary issues, talk shows, special reports, and investigative journalism. The channel will cover major national and international events across politics, economy, society, sports, entertainment, and technology. The channel authority has already expressed its commitment to delivering reliable news across all sectors.
